Default Help with camshaft selection

I have an F20B, so I am going to need a H22 camshaft. Stock compression is 11.0, and i dont plan on raising it. F20B head has a mild port and polish when it comes from factory, so I'd rather not do head work.

Looking for a camshaft that will make power till 9000rpms. Looking for around 230 total horses. So what i need is a camshaft that will work on the stock block and head, and won't die out before 9000rpms.

My only choice right now is Skunks Pro 1's.

Please no flaming, only looking for helpful sugestions. Thanks.

you want 30-40whp from a set of cams from a stock motor and you want it to make power to 9000?

not happening. Sorry. Thats like asking to get the sensation of 10 oreo's and milk with one.

Motor is only internally stock. Right now it makes power to 8500rpms on Type S cams. But wanting more power at all rpms now. Only need about 20whp or so to get to my goals. I like the Oreo's and milke analogy though.

You wont find a concrete answer there, either, because there isnt one.

with a super bitching header (which he might very well have) and a great tune on a church-esque dyno, he could get close to his goal.

My set up breaths really well, and pulls good til the 8500 redline it has now, using h22 typer s cams. I see most people who use the Pro1s die out before 8k even. So i'm just asking to see if anyone has personal experience with the F20B motor, or has h22 cams that make power up top.

Just because a dyno reads high doesnt mean it will give you a large HP finish from baseline to final tune. If you gain 10hp on a dynojet, youll gain roughly 10 on a dynapack.

Not worried about numbers so much, as long as power is being made up top

A dyno is only a tool. You make a baseline run (or runs), you make changes, and then you do more runs and compare. If all you care about is getting the highest number on the dyno possible you are basically a bench racer. CC is right that if you gained 10 HP on one dyno then you should gain 10 HP on another, even if the peak numbers are different on the two dynos. The only issue with a dynojet is that there can be variances due to tire slippage on the rollers whereas the DynaPak bolts directly to the hub so that potential for error does not exist.

well first reving to 9k isnt necesary. i have a auto f20b set with a 8500 redline, ebay header moded for h2b, and tuned on chrome. if you have type s cams you should have already been tuned to 9000. my tunner has my vtec set at 3500-8500redline. he did say tunning this thing is a B**ch there is a ton of advance another reason to stay with OEM cams. there is power at every point in my power band. with the pro 1s you may reach your goal but it will be peak and it was designed for a h22. apples to apples. what about the rest of your powerband? What are your goals (ie. drag, road race, street)?

but i will be helpful and say type s cams, rmf header or rep., 3in intake, 70mm throttle body, 310cc, some msd ignition stuff, most important chrome tune or hondata. have fun and let us know what you do. need more F20B feedback

so why dont you call some custom cam companys like rocket motos or bsi motors
but a h22 with type s cams wont make power at 8500rpm,,,,but if you swear it is the f20 causing ur high rpm power band i cant see why pro1 or pro2 or pro3 wouldnt make high rpm power
