Default check engine light

I changed the cold air intake filter and the check engine light turned on . I already checked the hoses and the sensors and everything seemed to be fine. I reset the computer with a scanner and the light is still on. What could be the problem?

if you reset it with a scanner, what did the scanner tell you the code(s) were?

Default check engine light

It wasn't me the one the plug the scanner it was at the honda dealership and they told me that I needed to put the original filter back on the car, because this cold airintake was going to blow my engine. I dont know a lot about mechanic but I am not sure if I should just put back the original one

thank you

I used a cheap one that I found on ebay I was thinking that that could be the reason because I only paid like 40 dls, any recommendations as far as brands?

If your going to do a CAI, then use a known brand like AEM. Yes, they are more expensive, but they are proven.

I strongly suggest you take the ebay intake off and throw it in the trash. Figure it a lesson learned.

I hear of so many people buying something on ebay that looks like a great deal, only to cause thousands of dollars in damage to their engines (performance chips come to mind).

Always use a proven name brand for anything you bolt onto your car. If you can't afford the cost of name brands, then don't mod the car. NEVER go the cheap route. Just my opinion.

just change the filter with K&N filter that is the only thing that is different from the more expensinve ones to the not so expensive ones...it is a simple bent mandrel with a filter hooked to one end. just make sure that the MAF sensor connection is selaed properly.....if not just spray some acetone cleaner on the MAF sensor and drive the car around and let the computer reset it self...... and NO it is will never ever blow your engine....whoever told you that is an a@#$@#$@ hole
