Another engine harness question? ls vtec this time
Im building my first lsvtec and putting into one of my EGs. I dont have the original engine harness for the car. The car is a CX, but I do have a harness for a EX/Si. I plan on using a chipped P28 ecu because thats what I have laying around also.
Is this harnes gonna be ok to use? If not, whats the preferred harness? depinning isnt an issue. I just need a good resource for wiring one of these things up. Theres plenty of building resources but none of them really tackle which ecu/harness is the most easy.

that would be the harness you want to use. only cause it has the provisions for the vtec.
Also your going to have to add wires as you already know. What manifold are you using? if your using a gsr intake manifold you will have to hook or the butterflys in the manifold or delete them completly.
Goodluck

It really depends on what you are using for distributor, injectors and alternator. If you're using OBD1 components then the EX/Si harness works great, you only need to lengthen a couple of connectors. If the engine uses OBD2 components then using a '96 - '99 Integra harness is an easy way to make all that plug and play, leaving only vtec wiring to be added if you are using an LS harness.
well its a 93 civic cx, so the map sensor harness is on the firewall, so that kinda makes an LS harness out of the question. The block is an OBD 1 96+ LS block. It doesnt have the pcv hole or can on the back. The head is a '00 b16a. So I dont have any gsr issues. The alt is a OBD 1. The injectors are aftermarket, So they have their own harness anyways. The only thing I dont have is the distributor, But I have a buddy that might give me a obd2 one. Im gonna be running M & D pro 10 box, so I will proly just repin it into obd 1 plugs. Ive never hooked one up before but I know it eliminates the ignitor, so Ill be dealing with that anyways.
Not really, just use the original MAP sensor harness coming from the firewall and leave the one in the LS harness unplugged. On a side note if its a US CX it will have a throttlebody mounted MAP sensor. Only the US '92 - 93 DX/LXs used a firewall mounted MAP sensor, and Canadian CX/DX/LX/EXs
yeah its canadian. I know the LS isnt impossible but since I already have the other harness that is a little closer to what I need Ill just use that.
Does anyone have a good link to wiring with the ex/si harness into the cx chassis...or is it just lengthing, then plug and play
