Default Possibly worth it?

If this isn't the correct section I apologize, still kind of new to the site and finding my way around. Well I'm a long time rwd guy. Always had either rx7's or 240's. I've owned an eg coupe before and it was a great car. I'm looking to pick up another one, moreso just a shell. There's a kid a few streets away from me who has a primered 95 ex shell. Has tein coilovers, omnipower lca's, skunk2 camber kit in the front, some other stuff here and there. Has a little rust starting on the passenger quarter on the inside of the wheelwell, nothing serious. My shell has some minor surface rust but it was treated.

It's pretty much all there except for the engine. Bottom of the rad support is dinged up kind of iffy, but the top is fine. It's nothing too serious though. He's not sure on mileage, but it's around like 200k most likely (previous owner had a jdm cluster for a longass time). We were working on a trade for one of my s13 coupe shells. It's a two-tone power everything, power sunroof. Just under 116k. It has everything there except an engine as well. Original paint in good/ok condition, straight body no dents/dings. I can have it sold for 1200 if I hold it for a while, but I've been trying to find a trade since it's easier. We were working on a straight trade, but now he's wanting me to add a couple hundred on top of my shell since he has the suspension.

Anyone think this is worth it? Mileage wasn't a huge concern with me cause I would be replacing the engine and it has aftermarket suspension already. I'm not to familiar with honda pricing and I just wanted to get a few opinions before I make it official. Sorry for the rambling haha.

if you put an SR in the S13 you could easily flip it for 7K.

you wouldnt believe how much saying you have a SR20 in your 240sx gets you (in the north east atlease)

In my opinion, that guy's EX shell is not worth $1200.

Yeah, I was looking at it as what I paid for the coupe originally. My cousin is the one who wants to buy the shell from me for $1200 cause he wants me to hold it. I know I could sell it fairly for $1k. The suspension and extras is what's helping the idea of the ex shell. My plans are just putting a z6 back in.

Here are some shitty pics I snapped. Forgot to use flash on phone. Shell is straight and body is decent besides the rad support on the bottom. I think I may go for it if I can get everything included still. I paid $700 for my shell (I know I got an amazing deal from a guy who didn't know anything) so I look at it is this ex shell worth that, and with the extras I think it is.

After looking around at some of the builds people do, I don't think it's that bad. It needs work, but nothing is going to be perfect. There haven't been any decent rust free ex's around here so I'm kind of limited.

I wouldn't pay more than a grand for a solid civic shell with good paint. Buying a car in primer is never a good idea. It hides a lot.

I would looking for an integra shell IMO. I've owned both and I find they're better to modify and more comfortable to drive. Just my opinion though.

Good luck finding a clean one. It's a bitch in the northeast.

Yeah there's nothing around here. I'm not looking to extensively mod so an ex is fine. I'm actually not really into integras. Not bad cars, just not my thing. I'm kind of leaning towards just saying **** it and trading. Worse comes to worse we swap a new rad support and call it a day. Body is straight so I'll have to see.
