shifter is very sloppy!
hey guys,
i have a 92 civic hatch with a gsr motor and trans and my shifter is very sloppy... i have avid shift linkage with the prothane bushings in it. i also have the pin that gies through the linkage into the output shaft and my shifter is still loose... does anyone know where i can get a bushing kit for the shifter itself?!
thanks!

Your local Honda dealer can get you parts for your Honda

I have an avid shift linkage too, it was a bit sloppy as well. until one day i lost 1st and 3rd gear. i thought the bolt holding the linkage had come off. when i removed the linkage i found that the linkage had actually sheared off just before the shifter. i had to weld the linkage back together and reinforced the area where it broke. I'm not sure if other people have experienced this problem with the avid linkage before.

you sure the dust seal over the shifter pivot ball isn't torn?
also, the little plastic seat under the boot may be worn.
try replacing both or get the kit, it should probably fix your problems. also, be sure to use lithium grease on the dust seal and shifter pivot ball.
