I was told that there is 10 liters of fuel remaining in the tank once the light comes on so that would allow approx 100miles of normal driving till tank is empty. Has anyone ever checked to see exactly how much or how far you can go in normal driving conditions (60mph) from the light comes on till the tank empties. I realise its not a good idea to completely drain fuel tank.

 

Not sure, but I've gone about 40 miles on the highway with the light flashing on and off the whole time. It was scary though. I couldn't find a gas station near by.

My light for some reason only came on ONCE while i've owned my 94 LS. But once it HITS " E " I get about 50 miles and then it even goes below " E " But i don't trust it past that.

 

I get about 40-50 miles once it hits E, my gas light never comes on though.

 

today i just cleared the big bar near E and was sitting on E. I drove about 35 miles of city with the light on. When i filled it, she took on 12.1 gallons...

 

hmm.....it's supposed to be like a 13 gallon tank...hmm

 

true..so he done 35miles with the light on and then filled and it took 12.1 gallons which means he had about a gallon of fuel left in the tank, and on average a GSR will do roughly 20-25mpg, that can be taken to mean that once the light comes on there is approx 2.5-3 gallons remaining in the tank, which is what i was originally told but never dared to find out

Yup, If I remember correctly, every part of the world uses Metric because it's easier to measure. Only the good one US does not use the Metric system as the standard system to measure things.

 

Yup. I can't stand the standard system. Only reason I don't mind it is because I grew up around it and I'm used to what a mile feels like and what a gallon feels like, etc.

But we're all screwed now having to know both. metric is easy. Standard sucks for conversions. I'll be damned if they change football to meters instead of yards.

 

The tank on a g2 & g3 integra is 13.2 gallons. I have been looking for the past few weeks to also find out how much fuel you ahve left when the light comes on. My old accord had 1.5 gallons left when that light came on, but I don't know about the integras, maybe I'll just call the dealership and ask them.

 

the fuel light is supposed to come on when you have 2 gallons left in your tank. I think my fuel level sensor is messed up though because if I fill up right when the light comes on I usually only fill up till 10.2 - 10.5 gallons. Knowing this, I can go about 60-70 miles before desparately needing to fill up

 

I drove on the freeway for about 25 miles after my light came on, it was coming on and off intermittenly as I went through sweeping turns. I got about 11.5 gallons after that drive soo..yea you have about 2-3 gallons of gas left after the light goes on.

 

"E" is for enough....just keep going. youll make it

 

50 miles as soon as the light first goes on.. then it'll put to a stop....

 

keep in mind; your fuel pump is lubricated and cooled down by gasoline. when you are low on gas and it's splashin around, it may stress/break your fuel pump. don't drive with 2 dollars worth of gas

I never put more than $5 in at a time so I am always on E. I can always get 70 miles as soon as the gas light is steadily on in my 95 GSR. (driving average)

I can't believe no one has ever gone till you can't go no mo to find out...I did in my old Toyota but not yet in this car. Maybe this weekend I'll just stick a well sealed gallon of gas in my trunk and just, "average" drive everywhere till it dies.

ive gone to where the needle isnt even touching the E anymore.... but there were gas stations all over the place, i just wanted to see how far i could take it, ......top the day still have never run out of fuel.

The answer would vary. My light will come on, and turn off depending on incline, acceleration, etc. The typical illumination is near 11 gallons.

 

Well for me its obviously a 13 gallon tank and Ive left mine on past the E mark. It was pretty scary but in the end I only pumped a bit over 11 gallons for a full tank. You can do the math.

 

i heard that leaving your gas low will damage your fuel pump? is it true? try it once on my toyota and let's just say that it sucks in 0 degree minneasota weather haha
