it was a while back. it was an ASM fg2. i felt bad cuz i made fun of her and i opened up a can of worms on the thread. i think it was in the pic thread, but the mods cleaned up the unnecessary posts. or it might have been a thread. it was like almost a year ago i think. some people might remember
At tire rack's web site I punched in an Si and they have 19 and 20 inch wheel and tire packages and I saw 225/30/20 on a 8.5" wide wheel with a 40 to 45mm offset and they tend to be conservative with their fitments. 19" on a 8.5" wide wheel with 45mm offset with 225/35/19 the 20's they run and O.D. of 25.5" which is 0.9" taller than stock 19's and 20's are no problem for this car as long as you have the proper width wheel and offset

Because he OP likes them....Why put 17's on then? Because from other people have been trying to tell me on other threads big wheels don't do you much good. They had me have convinced that I should just put some 15's on the car haha.
17's were cool and high tech back in the late 90's. This is 2009 and cars are coming stock with 18's and up to 20's for high performance cars...Why do peopl not want to accept it

Everything the OEM does can be improved on including the wheel and tire package. The OEM is always challenged by the cost compromise. These are civics and I know they are SI's but it's a 21,000 dollar car so cost was high on the priority list.
it's not only cost. bigger wheels kill acceleration, handling, and braking. imo anything bigger than 17" looks funny on the civic; makes it look like an oversized hot wheels car or something.

....and like I told your dumb *** in the other thread those other cars that come with the bigger wider wheels stock need them because the smaller wheels wouldn't allow the tires sizes the vehicle needs nor would they clear the brake caliper.
Bigger wheels is a fad.
Additionally going plus sized wheels MAY give you SOME added traction as I and others said your acceleration and braking will go right in the trash, and any cornering improvement you think you might have gained is because there is less sidewall flex due to the thinner tire.
There is a down side to thinner side wall tires and the reduced side wall flex can actually cause your car to break traction and spin out.
So keep thinking and believing all you like.

Ima tell you OP like I told my friend...
Big Rims are for luxury cars who could give a **** about turning and all that mumbo jumbo. IS YOUR CAR A LUXURY CAR?.... NO
Therefore DUBS do not belong on a civic, they **** up way to much just to look cool. Speedo goes off, braking goes to **** as well as acceleration and **** even turning radius. If you got an R18 then by all means throw dubs on that bitch cuz lets face it. Your not gonna get to a point where your performance is gonna hurt. Cruising in dubs is cool but hitting V-tak in dubs is not.
So in conclsion:
Dubs on an R18 although its rice is ok.
Dubs on a SI is not only RIce but its dumb as hell.
And dont even say that you put dubs on your car because the streets are ****ed up. Becuase if your streets are ****ed up the first thought in your head should not be... O **** I NEED DUBs. You run a greater chance of hitting a pothole and ****ing not only your rims up but may even cause a crash.
Just my 2cents

Guys, just want to remind you that you are tuning a japanese acr and not american muscle or any other domestic. Chrome and Big wheels look really good on domestic cars but not much for japanese imports. Japanese imports are more of a performance mod type rather than being just for show/bling. The ride on a wheel bigger than 18"s is gonna be bumpy. Do you live in a city where the road pavement is almost perfect? Those big rims get bent easily because of the thickness-diameter ratio. But it's your car, your money.Do what you want to do...just my 2 cents
You, OP, and the rest who wanted big chrome wheels on a civic do not know anything about JDM/Import tuning. You are like one of those people who put those 13-inch wire wheels on honda's. That is not rice. Rice=Asians, asians do not set up their cars like that; it is all based on performance.
