I'm in senior year of high school right now going to a tech school for auto body. i'm plannin on respraying my teg before the end of the year. it's a Black 2000 gsr. thinkin of maybe sprayin it gunmetal or just redoin black but was just wantin to see some paintjobs where the engine bays are left unpainted and other areas where the color wasn't changed. just wondering. if the thread doesn't work then delete but i've seen some messed up **** before so i know there's got to be some cars. haha. please help me out. just want to see if it'd look that bad leaving some parts black.

 

here's my car as of now. Dont let the pic fool you. there's dings all over the car and the hood has a huge scratch/dent from a kid wreckin his bike's handlebars on it. haha. so it's need some paint. thinkin of either doing like a black with red pearl or doing gunmetal or something like that. wouldn't mind hearin some of your .02 cents. thanks.

 

i have a flamenco 2000 gsr as well and i seem to be getting the first signs of clear coat failure on my roof i dont really mind the bay being a different color as the outside personally but i dont show my car. i bet the majority would want to spray the bay if you paint the outside. im trying to save up for a paint job as well, but i think im just going to continue with flamenco. good luck deciding!

yeah. i just hate black. haha. when it's fully detailed it's soooo gorgeous. but man, drive it frikkin 10 minutes and it's covered in dust already. lol. wash it once and there's scratches all over it again after fresh wax. i was going to change the color but trying to stay away from all the work. but if it's charcoal i figured it wouldn't be too bad leavin engine bay black and whatnot. just spray the jams.

 

Gunmetal gray looks nice.

 

of all the colors to leave your bay, black is one of the best imo...
