My 94 accord LX wagon (automatic) suddenly started vibrating very badly so that it is very hard to drive now. I thought it is the rear motor mount problem. However, I am confused a little bit.

When idle, the car only vibrates when RPM is over 1000 (maybe 1200). When driving, the car vibrates through gear 1-3 and RPM from 1000 to 3000. She runs smothly after shifting to 4th gear no matter what the RPM is. When the car vibrates in 1-3 gear, I can feel the car does not have enought power. Anyone had this experience or could tell me what is wrong of the car?

Maybe the balancer belt has slipped or broken off?

 

That was one of my suspections at first place. However, the car is running smothly when shifts to 4th gear. However, if the problem can not be fixed, my last option will be realign the balance belt.

 

My first impression is a rear mount too. Vibrations from the engine dissipate as RPM goes up. Is this true for yours?

 

That is only true while the engine is idle. While driving, the engine vibrates even RPM is around 3000 except when the transmission is in 4th gear. I might have more than one problem.
