Well, as far as the exhaust is concerned, if I had to do it all over again, I would just buy a Magnaflow universal muffler and have a shop mandrel bend some 21/4" pipes from the cat. back. Cheaper than buying DC Sports, Tannabe, etc, but that's just IMHO. As far as engine, what exactly do you plan on doing with the car? How much power do you want to make? How much money do you want to spend?
I don't know if this is any help to you, but I have a 95 EX coupe. It's my daily driver and weekend autoX fun toy
. I'm saving for a B-series swap, which is the route many people take to really put power to the ground, although I've seen some really amazing 1/4 mile times from some turbo SOHC's. Right now, I have the stock D16Z6 engine with an AEM CAI, header, exhaust, and BBK 62mm throttle body. It's entertaining for a daily driver, and a little quicker than stock, but not terribly fast.
There are just so many options available it is impossible to say exactly what you should do to your car, and theres really no right or wrong anwser to that question, only your personal preference. If you're looking to get started, and don't plan on forced induction (FI) in the near future, I would recomend a cold air intake (CAI) first. My CAI made the single largest gain in power of any of the limited mods I've done so far, and if you do a swap later on, you'll still be able to use it on your new engine. Hope this helps, and good luck!
Edit- Oops, I meant to put 21/4", not 1/2. Thanks, Deepnite

i think 2 1/2 piping is a bit overkill unless ur going turbo..even with a blower 2 1/4 is perfect..with the 2 1/2 piping id be just concern d with torque loss
