Just got tuned and I'm making poop for power. Need new cams.

Ok so my buddy's car was tuned yesterday and made dog **** for power.
B18c 82mm CTR RS Machine pistons
GSR head with FF valves and JG valve train
CTR cams
Stock head gasket
Ebay header w/2.5 collector (going in the trash)
Spoon air box
Sk2 exhaust (new style)
s200 p28
Car made 164 whp and 124 Tq. on a Dynamic Dyno.
I know 13.1:1 is to much compression for CTR's. So now it's time

i dont know about yall but them numbers look way too low to me.......you should be atleast around 170
need more info...like what kind tb, im, % octane used...personally i dont think its mainly the ctr cams. i've seem them make over 200hp with less cr too. but if you're gonna get new cams dont get anything higher than pro 2's because you need head work to run those. yes, cr is at 13:1 but still need head work so it can power the cams. if he's using stock im and tb, those parts are really robbing his power. maybe its the tuner...
also, you sure they are ctr cams?

seems low for for your setup. your header is probably hold n back power. fyi, my old LSVTEC w/ ~12:1 CR and ITR cams made 178whp with a DC 4-2-1 header and stock muffler. Post up ur dyno graph if u have one
I bet your tuner is having to pull an A$$ load of timing to make that compression work without having to much detonation. If you had a camshaft designed with a little more overlap you could bleed off some of that compression and probably add some timing back to it and make good power.
I am not familiar with a Dynamic Dyno. How does this compare with Dyno Pack or Dyno Jet?
With stock GSR cams and GSR intake manifold I was in the low 170's whp on Dyno Jet. Do you happen to have the dyno graph? A/F would helpful.
I don't think a cam change is going to solve all the problems some this else is up.

Overlap has nothing to do with compression. He hasn't even posted a graph. You don't know what a stock motor would do on that dyno. You can't compare with other dyno's. You are more worried that some idiot is going to tell you they made more with less on x dyno with x setup. Take it to the track. If you do not trap the mph of similar setups then you at least know you are down on power and that you should have been smarter when choosing the compression and trying to run pump gas. Rant.
Try using a different intake. Box style intakes dont usually make power. Ive seen two different cases where ARC and the Ice Box were actually restricting power. I made 10-12 whp by removing my ice box. I forget the exact amount.
its not going to be the intake
p.s. i gained 10-12 horsepower by using the comptech ice box. its just different with all motors/tuners/conditions and combination of parts.

its most likely not going to be the intake

this was on a H series but its all the same concept.
