the best n easyest way to do it is juss run them directly to ur head lights.. instead havin a button or a switch..

There are holes where you need to cut on the inside of the bumper. I just used an "ebay oem" switch so i can turn them on and off when I want.

Well yeah you could probably get that with ebay type stuff. I wonder if it was wired correctly or an inline fuse was attached at all.

i bought the kit from ebay afew weeks ago for my 01, and i decided i wanted the ebay switch (which came with the kit) to work whenever my car was on so i didn't have to turn on my parking lights, so i rewired the harness that came with it in order to fit my needs. As long as you connect the wiring properly, use some shrinkwrap tubing at each connection and use a relay, there's no risk of "setting fire" to your car, just don't mix up the connections, but even still should not be a problem.

oh and also switches/buttons are really useful instead of turning them on with your headlights, you get that sweet "fogs only' look and if you have 10 000k hid kit in the fogs, you can turn them off if the cops are around and might give you trouble (depending on where you live lol)

yeh, i live in Quebec law isn't too bad on HID, but 10 000k in the headlights will get you a ticket..any lower is fine, since i'm running them in my fogs i'm hoping they won't care....ppl here have yellow fogs too so shouldn't be much of a problem. I wired my ebay fog switch to my accesory wire so when i turn off the car i don't have to worry bout forgetting them and draining my battery :D I installed the switch in the panel to the left of the steering wheel, but ebay switch was abit big and would not click in and out without jamming, so I had to sand down the edges of the slot and drill abit off the corners, but works like a charm now, and looks great! Good luck with your fogs Devine!

haha...i did probably around 10-14 hours of electrical work on my car this past week...since i was on "break" from university this week, thought i'd take advantage by workin on my car....between building a car @ skool and work...got alot done though, foglight install prolly took me 3-4 hours total, with my custom wiring of ebay switch to accesory, and also, dunno if anyone else had the same problem, but the switch i got off ebay with the fog kit was abit tight in the slot on the switch panel, had to shave the stock slot down quite abit with a drill and some sandpaper to make it click in and out properly. Anyways it was all worth it in the end :D we should do a picture thread of foglighting for 7th gens would be hott :D am i the only one besides evil to be rocking 10000k hid's in my fogs??? represent lool

You have to cut a little hole inside the vent so that a part of the fog light will go in... If you have the special edition model you'll have to remove the factory lip to install the fog lights. The lip won't go back on after you have them installed, so you'll have to trim the vent area so that it'll fit on your bumper again. Had that problem with mine.

no, em2 08, the switch itself fit right into the hole after i took off the blank cover, it even clicked into place, BUT the button was tight, and so when i would push it in, it wouldn't come back out so my button would be stuck in because the dimensions of the ebay switch were slightly off. I know it's the right place for it, but it just needed abit of "thinning" of material to make it work. Not a biggie, looks good now and works great though.

oh and trang man, try hooking up your fogs to the fog harness, and test only that harness (the one that connects directly to the fogs) by putting the positive and negative wires to the battery, that will atleast show you if the actual fogs and the main harness work. If they don't, you know it is either the switch harness or the intermediate harness. And also, maybe you forgot to hook up a wire or two from the switch harness, or improper ground. If they do work when you hook up only the main harness, you might want to look into wiring the rest up by yourself from there. Let me know if you need any help doing it, it's not hard if you have any electrical experience at all.

Thanks taktix for the info.
I'm going to try it tomorrow. I might just wire it straight to my parking lights.
Can someone show me how to wire it directly to my parking lights?

np. I would post up a diy with some pics but i have absolutely no more time to work on my car, with school and work, and we're designing and building a car @ skool so that's work too sorry i can't help you there, check the lighting forum they have some good info there, if not here's a website that shows some decent pics for wiring ebay fogs harness to parking lights...i didn't do it this way so i can't guarantee if it works well, but others have said it works:

Thanks, But I followed that DIY, but my harness is different from that.
It only has one plug into the fuse box.
