Loud screeech when turning on the car (Only when its cold)
My friends car makes this loud screeech sound when he turns on the car. It only happens when his car is cold. We think it might be his Alternator belt?? He doesn't have power steering or A/C belts connected.
Definately belt related, my old car used to do that, only after a night outside sitting ... first thing in the morning when it was cold ... then not again after driving. Mine was the PS belt, but you said that was gone, so look for other belts, I guess.
Yep, my prelude did that when I put in the new alt. I was like "wtf?" I went out and bought some of that belt dressing but that didn't do anything but make it 1db quieter. Then I tightened the belt a little and it went away.

just tighten it...
Belt Dressing is actually stickier and will collect dirt, etc.
Lubricants will also collect dirt and the likes over time.
