hey guys, so i already searched but i might have typed in the wrong phrase.

my car is making a noise like metal scraping while im driving 1st-5th gears between about 1500-3000 rpms. if i cruise its hard to hear but if i give it any sort of gas then i can. i checked my oil and it was really low even tho i put in oil like 3 weeks ago, i think it was burring oil cause i looked under the car and it doesnt look like there is any oil leaking. Anyways, when i looked at the tip of the dipstick it looked like there were metal scrapings in the oil...is this a spun rod or something else? me=noob ik

 

a rod bearing may be severely damaged.

you sure you didn't drop a small bolt or something in the engine if you had the valve cover off or something? (unlikely, but possible)

 

extremely sure, the last time the valve cover was off a long long time ago and i had all the bolts i took off in a cup
