hi guys, heres the deal.
ive been told several, several different opinions on this subject and just want to gather some more from yous guys...
h22a lsd tranny = M2B4 4.40FD
h22a type r tranny (w/o traction control) = T2T4 4.80FD
i just got a T2T4 from steve, who assured me it will bolt on and work fine with my h22a. well, some local friends and preludeonline.com members keep telling me this will not work. that its been tried and they dont even bolt up. i know this isnt true, i held the damn thing up to the M2B4 today, exact same bolt locations and everything... okay, so i dont have a concrete question, but what do you guys think? thanks...

I dunno they asked the same question...the only place that came from was Sun, who emailed a guy. So if it bolts up then let us know. Is this the Euro-R (Japan) or Accord Type-R (Europe) tranny? Are they the same. Also, I though the JDM tranny had the same FD (4.266) as the rest of the preludes?

well i was gonna ask a similar question but didnt want to start a whole new thread, but if my friends distributor has a JDM H23A4 (h23vtec) accord sir wagon motor but no tranny, will it bolt onto any usdm tranny? would 4th gen si tranny be good, something about shorter gear ratios? and do you know of a online shop that sells tranny's? i'd like to know my options before i go ahead and purchase that motor. thanks guys!
an easy way to tell if it is an lsd tranny is to look though where the axels go into the tranny. if you can see all the wa though then it is a lsd model, if there is a bar though the middle it is not, dont know about the other stuff cause i hear so much different info, if i was to guess though, i would say all will bolt to each other, that would keep production cost lower for honda.
Vinny
btw- i have a tranny for sale, dont know the model # but it is supposed to be a jdm one, and the gears are taller then an si, but not as tall as an s model.

thats kind of weird because...
#1 - i saw the h23 vtec in person and it was stamped H23A
#2 - i was not aware of any JDM motors with a numeric digit after the last letter

aight thats cool, well you're probably right cuz i've never seen one in person, but from what i was told its a h23a4. #2 makes a lot of sense, so i think you're right. anyways thanks for corrections or whatever
Well let us know in a month! I'm interested to see the results. I'm going to guess it should bolt in fine, but what do I know
E-mail sun dang, he may be able to give more info on it....

You guys sound like you can help.
I have a USDM 4th Gen Prelude 5spd. I purchased a JDM H22A engine and tranny.
The stud patterns for the tranny mounts on the two trannys are completely different. Any idea what to do about this? Like everyone else, I was told that it should bolt right up, but it is way different.
Thanks,
-CaNaBiS
additional question: what tranny would fit a h23a? i really need to know because i think i can get a GREAT deal on just the long block itself. if anyone could answer, that would be awesome.

UPDATE! all bolt holes line up correctly, bell housing shows no signs of being the wrong size! so far, i am 98% sure this is going to work... will let you guys know when its actually in the car in first week of sept.
Speaking of trannies, does anyone know if the tranny on the Type S w/ATTS is any different from the USDM Type SH tranny w/ATTS? Is there anything SH owners can do to improve their tranny and maybe cutback on the hp loss going down to the wheels?

I am am replacing an H23 with a JDM H22A engine this week. Should be done first part of next week. So far, I have run into problems getting the right tranny mount which has forced me to use my old transmission and I couldnt use my old headers and the JDM manifold wont bolt up to my exhaust.

um, i dunno but a friend w/ a h22a his came with tranny code M2B4... who knows?
