!!!!!finally found!!!!!
After 4 long years, my brother's itr has finally been found. I mean in pieces, well just a piece I guess. The changeover was found in Arizona, we live in southern california. LOL! this is great news guys that the law enforcement does do their job, no matter how fast or how slow.
+1 to Arizona P.D.

I think they stumbled on it and ran the VIN. In the same 4+ years mine has never been found... and cars are still being stolen at the same rate as ever (if not worse).
Cops... most couldn't even catch a cold.
congrats on the find! thumbs up to da Police.
different departments act different. when theives tried to take my car in glendale the police took it very seriously but when the tried to take it in san diego they didn't give a ****. over the phone the dispatch lady told me that they dont send squad cars for attemptd car theft if there is no witness of the suspect and the car is still there

Crappy deal...imagine if even a small percentage of these cases where someones fingerprints were found on the interior of your caR got taken serious enough for a quick dusting of prints. If someone got busted and obviously got fingerprinted...they could easily do quick search and solve thousands of these near-thefts! I'm dreaming I know...
yeah i know tell me about it. the dumb lady said she would have someone from law enforncement call me ASAP and i still havent gotten that call.
if there were actual damages done to the car and they said the same thing i would have filed a lawsuit on their asses

'Sir, do you know why I stopped you?' -'Because there's a donut between my header and exhaust?'
I called the cops, they came, they laughed, and they told me that I watch too much TV. They did allow me to file a report for what was stolen.

again f u c k cops !
Why hate the police? I'm sorry, but they are most likely understaffed and underresourced for auto theft. How does the need to address theft compare to the need to address violent crime. Just a thought.
The police target large theft rings, not individual thefts. That's just the way it is. If you want more action, hire a PI. In the end, you will find that it is not worth it.
At least the OP's car was found. Who owns the parts now since insyurance most likely paid for the initial loss?
