Default Slightly low/rough idle

I recently changed the timing belt on my 95 lx auto and it seems that it had been idling slightly low around the 500 rpm mark(according to the tach). Should I have to adjust this ? Is something being wrong causing this ?

when you changed the timing belt, did you make sure you put it on right because it sounds like you might be off a tooth. Did you do the tensioning proceedure? Sounds like the timing is off.

everything lined up, nice and tight. Accelerates fine, drives fine. Just at idle and has a slightly extended crank but only when cold.

check coolant level and make sure there is no air in the system. I assume you did water pump? low coolant or air in the coolant can mess with idle on these cars.

I left the bleeder open for awhile and it spit alittle but not steady stream, fans cycled two times and still didn't get a stream. Coolant level has remained constant. Yes i did do a water pump also. Why would this make the car run rough ? I know it can cause issues but why exactly ?

I got a little bad idle from my 01 Accord when I did the timing belt. Try checking the coolant again. Is the radiator full? Try squeezing the upper hose to fill in those air gap in the system.

The computer takes in consideration the temperature of the engine.

Did you remember to put back/install any ground wires that was taken off? Especially the one on the motor mount? I counted 1 ground wire going from valvecover to the engine mount. and there was 2 ground wires total on the enginemount itself. I have the EX version (VTEC) so idk, just make sure.

You may try taking out your thermostat and moving it back and forth, or just replacing it. Sometimes they stick and wont open/close like they should. My guess is if you never got a solid stream its not workin right.

lower hose is hot. Car warms up normally, stays at normal operating tempature while driving or idling.

Again i notice this mostly at start up but only after it sits a long time, overnight. If i go to restart the car 2 hours after I drove it prior it will start normally. So it sputters/extended crank only during cold start.

something that can cause that is a dirty air filter sicnce when it is cold it sucks more air, or at least tries if that is the case

Could also be something as simple as a bad plug wire.

AF is clean, wires ohmed out correctly, a few months old and making good contact. An ignition problem would most likely get worse with speed also.

try adding a lil tension to the throttle cable enough to bring it to 750 after it warms up

yes but the problem is more so just at startup while cold. If I shut down and start back up while warm I wont have any issues. This rough idle is basically just at cold startup.
