VTEC in 90-93 Accords?
I was wondering if there is any possible way to VTEC the 1990-1993 Accords without swapping the motor?

did you just use the word VTEC as a verb..?
i'm sure it's possible. i'm "un-VTECing" a 99 accord with a 90-93 head.
what you're asking about is refered to as a mini-me. very popular on civics.
my opinion, without getting into too many hypothetical numbers... you'll spend as much getting a VTEC head to work on your block as you will just swaping in a good used VTEC motor.
the other alternative -and a less costly one more than likely- is to drop in a cam and chipped ecu on your 90-93. those heads have giant ports and respond well to this type of upgrade.
you can check these out for ref.

Well i have looked it up and i found out that you can not swap a F22b vtec head on a f22a block because the studs are different it would be wise just to swap motors you can use the same tranny.
Honestly don't bother with VTEC. Unless you want to save gas. Thats what VTEC is designed to do! LOOK IT UP. I like to have power all the time when I push the gas AKA no VTEC.
yes you can swap a h22 head on a f22a block but you will not get the full potential with the head cuz the block is not design for anything over 7000rpm. your best bet is to go with a h22 and go from there.

what you are describing is VTEC-E not VTEC the E stands for economy, how is it that vtec has been so popular for 15 years, and you come along and let everyone know it is not for performance, man, the scene just died, everyone is living a lie, lets sell our hondas
Just to clarify the SOHC F22B1 VTEC (not VTEC-E) is not fo yo mad VTACH pawah! It is for fuel economy... There is no such thing as VTEC E for the F22B1. IIRC the D series Civic HX was the car that has this particular cam setup. The F23A4 ULEV is similar but goes even further into emissions control with the 32bit PGM-FI control.
Yes the VTEC in the DOHC heads is made for power and performance. And this kind of half A$$ed wiki plagerizing is why these technically un-moderated forums can cause a wee bit of confusion... and CB7 tuner is no better. You have to learn to read between the lines when asking questions on a forum.
To the OP,
There is not goign to be any big reliable power gains from dropping a VTEC head onto a stock F22 bottom end. Be it SOHC or DOHC. However it is possible none the less and there will be some benefits. Check out the FAQ sticky. There are a few swap threads you can look at and decide for yourself what you want to do.

Not to mention that dropping a DOHC H22 53.8cc VTEC head onto a, stock internal, F22 block will drop the compression ratio to approx 8.4:1. From it's usual 8.8:1 with it's 50cc head.
Good for boost maybe. In that case you'd be better off loosing VTEC and using an F22B or H23 non VTEC DOHC head (these are also both 50cc heads = 8.8:1 CR on an F22 block).
