Icon6 Password Intake

Yeah I have a 1999 Si EBP and I currently am running a Password whale ***** and a N1 catback. I was driving it tonight going about 40 in 3rd shifting to 4th and I heard a weird noise coming from the intake. It almost sounded like a blow off valve releasing boost. Anyone else with the whale ***** ever hear that?

its normal and to be expected with any improved intake system. you are sucking in a lot more air so you hear it every car i have ever heard with an aftermarket intake has made that noise

Make sure that all vaccum lines are still attached also check throttle body for loose springs or anything loose on the mateing surface between the TB and the Intake manifold

The sound might go away, but that doesn't mean you've fixed the problem.

OP: Do you hear the sound if you hold the throttle steady? If so, it's either vibration/resonance (which is not unusual with aftermarket parts) or a small vacuum leak. If you only hear it after closing the throttle, it's normal, and there's nothing to worry about.

I wasn't complaining lol. Personally I think it sounds amazing but it caught me off guard once I realized that it happened almost every shift.
