Just wondering if I will be safe tuning my semi-built motor on something simple like a SAFC controller? I am also open to any suggestions on what I should use instead to tune this thing.

Block:
98' GSR block, rods and crank
PR3 B16 pistons
CTR crank pulley
Fidanza 11lb flywheel

Head:
3 layer head gasket
98' GSR head
DNR full port and polish
Ferrea Valves
Skunk2 valve spring and retainers
skunk2 pro series manifold with type r throttle body
CTR cams
Hondata Intake manifold gasket
Injen short ram with velocity stack
DC sports JDM 4-1 header

 

Don't skimp on the tune bro.

 

a tune is very essential to the optimal performance of the engine, shelling out the money to do it right the 1st time will save u money and headaches in the future. Trust me, i learned the hard way.

 

That being said, is just tuning it on the SAFC skimping out? I also forgot to mention that I currently have a mugen chipped P28 ecu.

 

Yes. The SAFC cant do anything about ignition.

 

So basically I should just man up and get hondata s300.

 

Tune it.

 

I'd get an AEM wideband, a burn 2 and download a copy of crome.

 

You don't need S300, crome (or an equivalent) will work.
