Seatbelts have a lifetime warrantee by Honda.

If you take it to the Honda dealer they will make you an appointment for them to do a cleaning of the seatbelt mechanism free of charge. If this doesn't work (which it likely won't), they will make you another appointment and order you new seat belts. They will replace them free of charge.

I had both seat belts on my del Sol replaced for free. The invoice said it would have cost me $370 if they hadn't had a warrantee. Now my seat belts hold me in my seat really good around corners, and of course they retract by themselves finally when I get out of the car.

Enjoy your new seat belts!

x2. My all stock 91 Civic's failed in 2001. Dealer fixed it no charge. The lifetime warranty is very clear in the warranty booklet. I am not sure this transfers to 2nd owners or cars with any kind of modification, though.

If a used car is bought with no seat belts does the warranty still apply? Will Honda replace them?

take the panel off that covers the seatbelt mechanism. I was having a similar problem with mine and once i took panels off to re-do my interior, i noticed that the bolt that holds in bottom mechanism was very loose! no good. but i bolted it back down and it re-tracts great. no problems at all.

check it out

It does.

No need to take it apart and check it out, just call them up and they'll do it all for you. I'm a DIY kinda guy myself but if the Honda dealership wants to do free work, i'll let them. The chances of those bolts coming loose on their own are very unlikely. I'm surprised this happened to you, DC2-ProdUcTiOnS.

Kuniva, I would think so. I think the warranty is on the belts. As long as they're Honda seat belts, they should have a warranty no matter if they're original to your car or not.
As long as they are the correct part number for your car, I think they will replace them.

How do I seatbelt fuse? I understand the first things to do when there's a problem is check fuses for one, but I think this is the exception!
