Default Mishimoto Aluminum Radiator ??

I was thinking of just replacing the oem rad w/an all alum one.

Serve 2 purposes.

1, better cooling as I hear everyone talking aobut the cars and heat.

2, weld 2 -6an fittings on it for the turbo coolant lines.

Thoughts?

Price difference between what 2? I was giving 2 reasons I think it would be a good idea.

Better cooling v.s. the oem rad, and would allow me the ability to weld fittings directly to it for the coolant lines. Be alot cleaner imo.

i thought u were replacing it because it had a leak... now as i read on u just want to replace it for better cooling... i mean its not a bad idea... i saw them on ebay for ~240 if thats the one you want... i would upgrade the hosing too while ur at it...

and ur car is right around the same mileage as mine...

The oem one is mint, I just can't weld -6an fittings on it..lol.

Also I figure it will provide better cooling with a couple slim fans then what I've currently got.

Seems the slim fans flow more cfm's than the oem and w/the huge shrouds.

I have it and its alright. Just use the smaller fans that they sell cause the mounting points they have for the OEM fans are off DAMN IT !

The aluminum radiators get hot. The oem does better in my opinion.

Don't forget a different radiator hose and definitely a different radiator cap that fits this unit properly.

It's a drop in oem replacement, so the oem hoses should fit up just fine.

They are in great shape and don't need replaced just yet. It also comes with it's own cap.

I plan on getting 2 slim fans for it anyway...1 for the coolant, and one for the condensor.

The stock mishi cap sux. I replaced mine with the mugen one instead. I also changed out the hoses and thermostat at the same time. Might as well do it all at once.

It seems most of the Mishimoto caps are defective. Mine leaked, so I repalced it with a J's.

I agree. Other than that, it's a great piece. My oem fans lined up just fine and my buddy bought one and the oem fans fit with a CTSC w/AC, too.

I don't know if it's the new radiator, the royal purple coolant additive or something wrong with my car, but after the Mishi radiator got installed, my car now takes a lot longer to reach 3-bars temp. Last mountain run I did, my car rarely hit 3-bars and was at 2-bars most of the day.
