OT: DIY intakes - Need help finding 3" piping.
I'm going to do a DIY intake. Does any company sell 3" diameter PLASTIC piping? Like from an Iceman. To be more exact - I would need a piece in the shape of a "U".
Also, does K&N have a filter with a built-in velocity stack? What's the part #?

the K&N X-STREAM series has built in velocity stacks I believe. As for plastic, a trip to home depot should provide you with all the PVC you need.
you could cut up the stock intake and use the plastic pieces from it.
thats what i did, and its not so bad really...
the only tricky part was cutting the resonator up so it retained the mounts.
i cut it into two pieces, so i could lower the top piece and get rid of the gap between the plastic parts.
this caused the mounting bracket to be a little low, but there was enough flex in the whole assembly to make up for it.
we heated the bottom piece up and sort of unrolled the lip, then pushed the top down into it and heated it again and
after a while it began to fit better, but never really good. in the end we duct-taped the hell out of it
