totaled my 99 accord ex today
So today i was sitting at a red light and i just happened to look in my rear view mirror just as an old lady in a brand new Trail blazer plowed into me goin about 50 mph...i ended up in the hospital with a broken collar bone and a concussion and my car is totaled...
I fail to see how it's totaled?
Your air bags didn't deploy, and it doesn't look like anything rippled on the roof? Is there massive frame damage or something? It looks like you broke 2 bumper tabs on either end from it flipping upwards and mushed in the trunk.
Looks more like 20mph rather than 50.

that sucks ... breaking your collar bone hurts like a MF ... the reason insurance companys total cars because its cheaper for them ... so do you get to keep the car? i remember when i totaled my '99 LX ... it was a year ago this Jan.20th ...$8500+ in damages so it was considered totaled ... the frame buckled from underneath ... engine got pushed into the firewall ... steering rack and column broke ... passenger wheel got lodged into the wheel well and stayed stuck ... definitely one of the worst days of my life

Ya my homies 96 accord LX was so so Fin clean and it was totaled last year.. I was sad as **** for him. It just inspired me to make my accord that much sicker, and guess who gotta first pick at all the JDM parts??.. :-)
But I swear accords are strong *** cars.. Defiantly have safety in mind. My buddy crashed his doin at least 50mph. Jumped a curb hit a fire hydrant. Crushed his entire front end, snapped drive shaft, holes in the floor, passenger front door wouldnt open cause of the front tire jammed into the wheel well so bad..
Well vtecpower3088 I hope ya get another honda, and hopefully another accord it will be!! good luck

50mph might be a bit optimistic. My last coupe was rear ended by my best friend (I was sitting still, he was braking, but still between 35 and 40mph) in a tahoe, and it crushed my trunk flat up to the rear window.
Still, sorry for your loss. Sounds like you weren't wearing a seat belt judging by your injuries.

I actually rear ended a 6th gen Accord like the OPs with my DSM. I was attempting to go around it and a car was parked on the shouldler illegally, to late to serve anywhere and I hit the right rear of the Accord. I was going probably 45ish prior to braking. MY car had $6800 in damage, the Accord about $1800, rear bumper, and bumper support took the hit along with her muffler. The Accord held up like a champ, mine was not totalled but it was a mess.
is ur accord stick shift or automatic? cuz i have a 6th gen automatic n want to convert it to stick need parts. im either in northlake il or glendale hts let me know.
got quoted $4800 by 4 shops to fix the damage because the frame buckled on both sides....car is a stick but im not sure what im gonna do with it...insurance is willing to pay up to $4200 for the repair cost or just give a check for that amount and take the car. My parents are willing to pay the rest to get it fixed but im not sure its worth it cuz the body has 150k on it. On the other hand the motor only has 23k so I really have no idea what im gonna do
gutted! you chasing for damages to you?
it always harsh when somebody elses rubbish driving causes the problems. that lady has poss caused more accidents but only been involved in 1

yea im goin after her for medical damages cuz she tried to run and a police cruiser blocked her in. as for the car i really dont know im gonna do...
i did have my seatbelt on btw and the reason im having second thoughts on keeping the car is cuz its my second 99 accord that has been totaled. both accidents were NOT my fault..
