my fried just got a eg hatch with a gsr block and b16 head and i am trying to help him fix some issues the car has. when i want to start the car i have to give it gas to start it because if i dont it just keeps cranking. what can it be??? the guy he bought it from claims you have to give it gas to start it because it has stage 3 cams but i don't think thats true.

cams will make a car idle hard, but it should not have anything to do with start-up. Sounds like you need an ECU tune.

 

check fuel pressure?
