Default i brought a b16a head for $100, do i have all the parts?

so the b16a head i got was totally disassembled. i originally though i was buying a bare head, but it looks like the kid actually had every thing except the cams, distributor and vtec solenoid. i do have 32 of the little cam keepers not pictured, along with the other misc bolts.

i talked with my boy who is good at building heads, and he said its not too good to reassemble used parts. i am looking for some insight on the topic. has anyone ever reassembled a head like this?

the valves all look straight. but i have no idea what valve came out of what hole. some of the smaller valves have alot of carbon build up on them.

i want to bring the head to the machine shop to get cleaned/checked and to get new valve seals put in.

It looks like its all there.. But I would go ahead and get a valve job to make sure it all seals up

yeah that was one of my concerns. also reassembling the rockers. i got every honda manual. but i am still scared of messing up. when i go to the machine shop ill have the shave it so it selas good on the ls block, tap the line for the lsvtec and do a vlave job.

so basically ill only have to clean the valves off, install the springs and retainers and vlavles and bring the head. or does it have ot be completely assembles to do a valve job?

Well not "fully" but the valves and springs have to be out of it. the rockers on the other hand are very simple and straight forward to put in.

Looks like you found a good deal. For that price you could build a good motor on a dime.

I can't see from the pictures but do you have the cylindrical dowels for the rockers? Other than that smoking deal.
