My automatic V6 1999 Accord tranny leaks a bit...
I spoke to the mechanic he said the best thing to do would be to add some Lucas additive as he said he's had some pretty good experiences with it at stopping leaks. He told me they brought him a Dodge Caravan that was leaking tranny oil like you couldn't believe and it was a miracle fix. I got all the oil seals replaced except for the one that goes to tranny which is the one that's leaking. My mechanic told me it really can't be replaced.
That being said, my auto tranny is like any other tranny on the V6 Accord. It shifts a bit sluggish. Something weird, though, is that when I first start up the car in the morning (Miami, FL) the car will not automatically get on Drive. It's like the gear does not stick. It just stays as if it was on neutral and then it will stick minutes later. That's incredibly annoying.
My mechanic said he would be against flushing the tranny completely and adding new oil. The car is in tip top shape with the exception of the tranny.
What do you guys think I should do as far as the leak and the quality of the tranny goes AND the way the tranny sticks at start up sometimes?

By the sounds of it the tranny is on its way out. That addative will more then likely do nothing. If it really is this bad I would either look in to gettiing your tranny re-built or putting in a re-man unit.
time for a rebuild, get the reman from honda as it has all the updates applied and are pretty much bullet proof now.........
no on the manual
don't let these people talk you in to having your current transmission rebuilt by an aftermarket/independent shop.....they never workout. Honda reman transmissions are built better and come with a nationwide 3yr/36,000mi warranty if installed at the dealer.
