Tire Rack has REO1R on close out
No he meant 195-50-15. Regular price for those is $120/tire. 195-50-15 will work, but tirerack will warn you about possibly overloading the tire.
I think I'll pick some up for my Grand Marquis beater. 245/45/17's all around will help it's autocrossing times compared to the 225/50 front and 255/40 rear re050 run flats on the pig currently.

for 205 45 16, they are $106 per tire, reguarly priced at $172 per tire. Good for people that do auto x....but i need a tire that lasts longer and better for DD.

gobs of camber, fenders are rolled and pulled, but im unsure if they actually would, though. I have run Azenis in 215/45/16 with zero issues with my car dunked lol so, we'll see if I get em.
It looks like Bridgestone is finally discontinuing the RE01R and bringing in the RE11 to replace it. The Tire Rack shows an availability date of March 6 for the RE11, including the 205/50-15 and 205/45-16 sizes to fit the ITR. And the RE11 is going to be pretty darn expensive, just like the RE01R.
Personally, I don't think the RE01R is worth it, even at those closeout prices.
For 15" wheels, you can get the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec in 195/55-15 for $94/tire with free shipping from Discount Tire Direct, which works out to about the same price as $78/tire plus shipping for the RE01R. Plus, the Star Spec is the right size for our cars (the 195/50 size of the RE01R is a bit small) and the Star Spec is stickier than the RE01R.
And for 16" wheels, you can get the Kumho Ecsta XS, almost as sticky as the RE01R, in 215/45-16 for $107 with free shipping from Discount Tire Direct, which is about $100 less per set than $116 plus shipping for the RE01R in 205/45-16 on closeout.
And yes, 225/50-16 and 205/50-16 are both likely to rub unless you have rolled fenders etc. With 16" wheels, get 215/45-16 (e.g. Kumho XS) or 205/45-16 (e.g. RE-11 or Toyo R1R).

Yes, and they're good tires for combination street/track/autocross use. They're just normally way more money than other, similar tires. As noted above, the closeout prices don't necessarily make them cheaper than competitors, depending on size.
they were cheap for the S2K but it is sold out.
The one thing that I loved about the RE01R was the consistency. As they get warmer and warmer they just don't crap out on you.
