Icon6 New old addition to my garage 89 Si Hatch (project)

***Still Looking for 88-89 Si door panels I will pay well for a set lemme know if you can hook me up***<<<<-------

Picked this up from the owner of a shop car has been sitting since 2004 paid $500 it came with a dohc zc swap in it and a new personal steering wheel, I figured worst comes to worst Ill sell the steering wheel and the motor/trans and make my monery back. It started right up so I said what the hell whats another project when you have so many . Ofcourse it needs some love the drain tubes had clogged and the car had alot of water inside after 4 years ands the sunroof was complete toast. The only good seat was the rear but besides interior needing replaced the only bad rust was outside pax rear quarter with normal rust nothing horrible. Im hoping Ill be getting the quarter fixed in a few weeks and then getting the exterior repainted oem color, anyway here are some pics.

passenger side

Pulled interior out

driver side

sunroof taken out

junkyard sunroof put in and working again now

dirty *** engine bay after 5 years

I picked up some 90-91 si seats and started swapping the new covers and foam over to my 89 seat frames

the mess began

finally done with seats and tried them out

pretty much thats is for the last couple weeks I have ordered new door panels and headliner and new carpet kit all oem. I am still looking for a 90-91 rear seat bottom in good shape if anyone knows where to find one let me know I just need the cover and Ill pay you for your time.

I also found that I need new valve stem seals which I am doing this weekend along with the usual suspects for good measure ie timing belt, headgasket and such just since ill be in there already.

My local Honda dealer told me the carpets and headliner were discontinued. Even the sub seals for the doors and discontinued and I desperately need them. Who do you get the parts through?

You can get a carpet from ebay. One of my buddies has an ebay carpet in his crx and it fit perfect and looks oem.

And that was an awesome deal on the hatch w/the zc.

SEX!?! trust me on this one, not in a Hatch back, maybe in a Escape or something, but a hatch is THE HARDEST thing i have EVER done. by them time to start, it hurts to much to move!

Man Ive been busy with work and spent last weekend driving from new jersey to virginia beach picking up parts for interior and exterior - and I got the head apart to do new valve stem seals so hopefully I will have that back on this weekend and get on some of the other parts on the car. Heres a pic of everything I picked up over the weekend. I picked up a bumper and filler ,hood, fenders, side panels, headliner (needs recovering),hatch cover and more.

took the head apart for new HG and valve stem seals and started to semi clean up the engine bay alittle it was really nasty after sitting for 5 years

Been busy but got around to doing a couple things nothing major really. I recovered the headliner in the fabric material instead of the vinyl and got my new used door panels in also. I also got my manual folding power heated mirrors and picked up a set of the interior power mirrors covers. Also got my jdm pm7 for the dohc zc so I can take out the pm6 that was in there. Also recovered the armrest

Very nice, the 89 Si is where it's at. I like how you put the 90-91 red stripe seats in as well, they match the car's red. Are you gonna keep it red or repaint it?
