Currently i have just purchase a 97 black honda civic im not sure if its lx, ex or dx but when i am driving down the door, the door locks are moving from lock to unlocked automatically. I drove the car to see if it happened at more times than others, only to find that i can trigger it when i push different buttons for the air controls. But otherwise, the unlocking/locking happens on its own.

Also when im driving, i go from 2nd to 3rd or 4th to 3rd, i feel a little grind half through the gear. Otherwise also, the tranny shifts into gear fine and rides like its brand new.

My first thought is that the driver's lock switch is bad. Nonetheless, the service manual describes Input Tests for the power lock control unit and keyless receiver unit. I think doing both of these electrical tests would pinpoint the unusual lock problem you are having.

With respect to the shift grinding, start by draining the transmission fluid and replacing it with genuine Honda MT fluid.

 

I will be aquiring the vin number soon and i will reply with the VIN. Yeah its wierd, it happens at random times. My mechanic also told me that it could be the acuator, not sure if im spelling it right.

 

This issue is happening at random times while driving, not in any certain gears or idle states. It just unlocks and locks at random times like someone is pressing the switch but no one is.

 

Ok i have found out it is an EX. Mechanic just played around with the alarm wires and hasnt happened yet.
