Default Carjack attempt, or alarm malfunction?

Alright, so today I went to go eat with a couple of friends, couldn't find a decent parking spot so parked pretty far. Finished eating, came out, and proceeded to unlock my car with the pager remote, then it flashes the word ALARM on the screen, so I'm like. Wtf? So I disarmed it, but my pwr door locks didn't unlock, so I did it manually by key... Nothing seemed to be missing.. Started testing stuff out, but none of my windows/pwr door locks worked at all. Checked fuses nothin blown, but everything else worked fine.. Told couple of friends, and some of them said someone could have tried to use a... scrambler? to scramble my vipers code or something? Can this be?

but anyway, I installed some foglights /w oem harness like 2 weeks ago, and I also personally installed the alarm myself as well a while back. but for the alarm's power source, I used the brown plug accessory to draw power (With a spade connector), and the oem harness for the foglights used the same plug as well beneath the dash in the fusebox, so what I did was, I spliced these 2 wires together. Could this be the problem that's causing my pwr door locks/windows to not work? Cause later on today, they started working perfectly fine again. Never ran into a problem like this, I've had the alarm on for atleast half a year now. Strange..

Give me some advice guys. Thanks

ahh yes possible. You need to give the alarm a good 12v source either direct to the battery (ideal but not practicle in reality) or go to the 12v battery line in the car's ignition harness.

I see, what I also noticed was, occasionally, when I actually DO unlock my door, it shows on the remote screen that my alarm WAS tripped, and says that the door was opened, but I know that this is impossible [that my alarm was tripped] because I parked it in the garage, and armed it just to test it, but this stopped, and everything's working fine again.. (??)

Sounds like you might have some wiring gremlins. Go over all your connections.

Yeah. Todays my day off so I'm gonna check them out. A quick thought though. My door locks and windows stopped working again, I also realized even my side view mirrors stopped working, none of the switches on any of my 4 doors work period. Is it even possible for the alarm to control ALL of my window switches and such? Trying to narrow down the problem.

And also: I noticed that my driverside keyhole has paint scratched off, so no doubt, someone was trying to break in

Only way the alarm is going to cause the issues you are having is if the alarm is hooked up to control them. Also the spot were you pluged the alarm into is a very poor choice to power your alarm brain. Especcily if you do not have a back up battery. If i was a theif I would unplug it just to see if it killed the alarm.

I do have a back up battery, and the only that that the alarm controls is the power door locks. so I guess that means, the windows/door not locking is NOT an issue with the alarm

but anyway, I used causeforalarm as a reference as to where to draw power from for a 12v constant, and ended up wit the brown plug accessory
