Default 98 Accord Cream interior

Hey guys first time poster,

Looking to do something about the Cream coloured interior of my '98 Accord (V6). I mean sure it looks alright but I think it could look better.

I've noticed that interior replacement parts are hard to come by online and i'm looking for suggestions on what to change/replace. I've looked at complete interior replacements by they cost $3000+ which is a bit pricey.

Just looking for suggestions at the moment, Thanks

Junkyard parts may not be the best looking but it sure as hell beats buying all new from the dealer. If you have the patience, you can always piece it together by way of numerous forums including this one. Look for complete part-outs in classified sections, and it doesn't hurt to throw up a Want-To-Buy thread here and there.

Just some suggestions to try and help ya out.

Are want to buy threads allowed on this forum?

I haven't yet visited a junkyard yet though I may. I think i can get full carpet replacements for cheap bt its just the dash and doors that will be hard to find.

How easy is replacing the roof lining?

Replacing a roof lining, really, is not a fun job.

Thank you. for the comment bro. I will get more pictures of the car tomorrow and post it up here. well we used to have a 1998 Honda Accord LX and i think it was in an accident so my dad stripped the car..and so we had the panels (along with some other things) left over. so we decided to do something since it was a spare one and my brother stripped the cloth off uv the panel and then cleaned it up. then he bought some paint (spray can ones)..you can get them at Walmart, Kragen, AutoZone, almost any auto parts store. and so we just painted it at home and used clear coat on top to give it a very good finish. (oh and make sure you dry them in heat for a good period of time.. you don't want the paint to get stick if its not dried that good) and it'll be looking good in no time. I think all we did was spend about..umm..not even $25 for the spray can paint and clear coat (had a lot of paint left over as well, which you can use to paint maybe ur center console, dash, pillar posts, etc. etc.) other then that we are thinking of painting the dash as well. but we're going to wait until we get another car so this one can sit in the garage for a while for the dash to get painted and dried. Maybe we'll paint the pillar post's as well..haven't decided on that yet. other things we have on mind for the interior is to get a new carpet (black) and some racing seats (preferably Sparco, Recaro etc).
Where do you live?

I didn't know you could use general use spray paints to spray the panels + interior items. I'll look into it a bit furthur. The carpet for the floors is easy enough to replace compared to some things but I have to find it first. The roof lining will be one of the hardest if its just a matter of removing the dash and pillar posts and spray them.

Any more help would be appreciated.

well yea we used the spray paints for the panels and most of the interior items (plastic/hard ones) and things like carpet you can order from eBay..its already molded into the shape of ur car so all you have to do is remove the seat's and take the carpet out..and install the new one..its pretty simple and as for the roof lining i dont know about that because i've never taken them apart but i haven't decided if i'm going to get a new one for that or no. I think they sell special paint where you CAN paint the carpet but you have to ask around for that. your best bet would be to ask a car painter, they might know.

eBay would be a good place to start for the interior lightning...all my interior lights i got was from eBay (wasn't cheap tho). what color do you want them? for ur door lights you can put 1 LED ones..here's a link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/20-x-...3A1|240%3A1318

I got 5 of these bulbs from eBay EACH costing me ~$20 but you can find some for cheap if you look around..just look for LED ones. and for the Dome light i think you should look into 9-LED. I'll measure mine's and tell you what to look for as far as the size goes..but for the dome light I got some BRIGHT WHITE! led's..(just find the right size for ur car and ur all set) something like this:
