Increasing mile numbers on cluster?
I removed my stock gauge cluster when I had 10,000 miles on it, and installed a Spoon gauge cluster. I am considering selling my Spoon gauge cluster and re-installing my stock guage cluster. Is there a way to increase the amount of miles on my stock gauge cluster to match that of what should be on there now? I don't want to install it and have it still say 10,000 miles, when really I have close to 13,000...

When you put the Spoon gauge in, which is kilometers, did the odometer increase in kilometers or miles?? Because i thought if you took the stock odometer out it would fit into that and it would just keep going up like normal and when you were ready to put it back it would still be the same...?
does the ODO work off a cable? I have never removed a g3 cluster so I dont know. But on the older tegs, the odo works off a cable, so you can rig a small dc motor to spin the plug in back of the cluster to raise the mileage.
on my accord, if you mess wit hthe gears inside the odometer part of the cluster, you can move the mileage. (you didnt hear this from me..haha)
word. take apart the cluster and remove the speedometer part that has the odometer and trip meter mechanisms on it. then...painstakingly turn the small gears manually so it reads the mileage you want. that's how the jdm dc cluster works..so i assume spoon is the same. i'm betting it won't be much fun to do though.
No no no.. I'm not changing the mileage on the Spoon cluster.... I had 10,000 miles on my stock cluster, then I installed the Spoon cluster. Since then, I have put on at least 2500-3000 miles on my car with the Spoon cluster installed. I want to put my stock cluster back in, so I want to change my stock cluster mileage and increase it to the actual mileage on my car. I want to change the mileage on my stock cluster.
i dont think ur going to get the actual mileage if you do, you should just keep track in a log or so..
the spoon cluster is in kilometers. there's no point to try to put the actual milage because its not going to be acurate anyways. unless you're going to calculate everything.
just leave it as it is, seeing as your not selling the car it doesnt really make any difference and the difference in the two is relatively small...3k wont make any odds if a year or two or when ever you sell the car. When i put my JDM ITR gauges in my car i suddenly lost 20k!!! i just cant figure out where it went to!!!!
yea, exactly. you gotta take it apart and move the little gears in the speedometer. theres one gear for each number, and use a screwdriver or something to turn them. i had to do it on my accord when i needed a new cluster after breaking my needles when installing stupid indiglos.
If its only 2500 or 3000 miles your worried about, just remeber that, and whenever you deal witht he mileage, just add 3000. Doesnt seem like that big a deal to me.
whats really fucked up is removing your VSS... its amazing how low milage you can keep a car
eh, Im pretty sure the ecu uses the vss. if you are going to practice Fraud , i would do it a different way
