Default Stage 5 clutch over doing it?

When I bought my car the guy included a Clutchmaster Fx500 Stage 5 race clutch, now don't get me wrong, I love how it'll hook and all that, but in your guy's experience.. can you run it on the street for daily driving? Or do i need to sell it and get a stage 3 or something?

It's still new in box, and the clutch I have in now is slowly dying.

Any help here?

EDIT:

97' Championship White EK Hatch - Turbo'd B18C1 - approx. 300whp+ @ 8lbs. on pump.
The power im making

I'd say even stage 3 is overdoing it. Unless you're making an insane amount of power stick with an organic disc for daily driving.

i got a stage 2 in my em1 and that grips very well. stage 5 would be way too hard to drive especiallt in traffic...

stage 1 is enough for a DD. stage 5 id say would be all track/strip car. a good stage 1 holds up to 210hp and thats good for most DD SOHC that dont break the 150hp mark.

Stage 5 is wayyy overkill, find a nice OEM replacement or stage 1, those are the best DD options

Stage 5 would have NO slip. I think everyone would agree that having a reliable (and tolerable) DD requires a very generous amount of slip.

Little more info....
Clutch choice comes down to your power output.

What kind of power are you making?

Stage 5 is too much for street, but if you are making huge power, you need it.

Wow...go post this in FI. You're getting a lot of bad answers here.

To give you something tangible to work with, no the clutch is not overkill. I'm running a CC stage 5 in my GSR and shooting for 450whp. What you have is a little big for your goals, but if you can DD it without any major complaints, there's no reason to swap it out. Who knows...with the way the boost bug bites, you'll upgrade in the future and kick yourself for getting rid of it down the road...
