Ok, so after getting the new cap/rotor plugs and wires on last night, the car ran like a top. Hit the remote start this morning before work and it starts as it should. Car runs for about 10 minutes, then I hear it shut off. It tries to re-start a few times before I finally stop it. Get home from work (I didn't drive, Kristin took me) and it starts up first time. I then took the wire off the coil to make sure it was crimped good and everything. Got it all taken care of and re-installed. Car starts up and runs fine for about 10 minutes, then shuts off. Now it won't start again. I called my uncle and he has me try a couple things.
1) take distributor cap off and try to start car to make sure the rotor is spinning. Rotor was spinning as it should.
2) take the coil wire off of the distributor cap, insert screwdriver and hold near metal. Crank car to see if there is spark. I didn't see anything, but I really don't know what I'm doing/looking for.
So I think I'm not getting spark but not 100% sure. So anybody know what might be the case? I think it's odd theat sometimes it will start and sometimes it won't.

did u stick the screwdriver in the cap or coil wire? u said u have an external coil correct so stick it in one on the spark plug wires then touch the motor. it might b uur module so see if u can have it tested. also u said sometimes it starts an sometimes it dosent? when u turn the key listen if u hear a humming noise then the dash should click.if u dont hear that look into changing uu main relay

I'll try that when I get home. Pulled coil wire off distributor cap and stuck a screwdriver in the end of the wire. It was still connected to my Blaster 2 coil. The screwdriver was then placed near metal. I didn't see anything, but not sure I was doing it correctly.
