Can the engine get damaged from not receiving a valve adjustment? I havent done one w/ my motor, im not sure if i need to do it or not, what are the signs? I heard its best to do it when the engine is cold instead of hot. Does anyone know the valve adjustment specs for a 96 JDM ITR motor?

if the valve clearances get extremely out of spec, yes. it can cause damage, much like if you adjust them improperly.

like many other required maintanences, you should do it if you like your car

also, it is recommended that you do it when the car is cold mainly because the valve lash they give you is for a cold engine, therefore if you do it warm or hot, then the heat would make the adjustment feel tighter than it really is because the metal expands and thus giving you the wrong valve adjustment.
