Default Failed Emisson in Maryland. HELP

Hey, I have a 94 civic hb with a jdm b18c swap. I took it to emission and it failed for hydrocarbon. (it was runnin lil too rich.) Is that because of the JDM p72?. Should I get it chipped n tuned or get a p28? How can I pass emissions?
Thankyou for your time.

You don't have to bump your topic more than once a day, people will get to it eventually.

You should definitely get a tune, that should solve your problem. You can try Phearable.net. For like $200 they should be able to send you a basemap that will get you through emissions...

LOWER the car and I MEAN SLAM THE ****ER. I am not kidding. That is how me and ALL my buddies pass. They won't take you over the rollers because they don't want to mess up your exhuast or bumper etc... And boom, you have your 3 year extension. I am dead serious dude. Works for OBDI and OBDII Do it. Maryland is so easy to pass. I take mine to the one in Bel Air.

They did that for my Stepdad's twin turbo Camaro. It was OBD2 but it was so low that they couldn't get it into the bay. They liked the car so much and they didn't want to mess it up so they just passed him...

I love MD, but I am in even better shape because we don't have emissions in St. Mary's county...

A buddy told me to just put sum ethanol in it and i will pass cuz im pretty close to the standard HC for MD.which is i think 221 and i was at 251. Should i just put like 2 gallons of that and run it to emissions?

"ethanol produces more hydrocarbons than gasoline"

That quote is taken from this article http://www.redorbit.com/news/health/...ths/index.html

It might technically be safe to run E10 because it only has 10% ethanol but I don't think that would help your case... Ethanol is extremely corrosive so running E85 could potentially eat away fuel lines and stuff like that...

I fixed the link for you, sorry about that... Yes my recommendation would be to get your ECU chipped and tuned. Again I think Phearable.NET could probably provide you a basemap via mail that could get you through emissions...

Plus when you go through emissions turn your car off, and don't let it idle too long... FYI I don't think running rich is causing you to emit too many hydrocarbons... When I lived in an emissions county my car passed and it was running ***** rich because of the cams that were put in with no tune. I'm talking the car puffed black smoke, and left a big black soot streak wherever it was parked...

Yah i live in Carroll county (maryland) and i havent been on the dyno since i bought my Eclipse.
They gave me a 3 year waver for the body kit.. and when i bought my EJ1 it was lowered with skunk2 springs and i got another 3 year waver maybe try bringing it up in carroll county (Westminster) they are very scared to do anything to imports. throw them springs on it.

and good luck

H&R race springs only gave you 1 inch? thats weird, well you could always call get an extension, limit 2 times. buy the biggest lowest hanging lip, let some air out of the tires, and run 13 inch steelies, given that you dont have EX,GSR, brakes. that should put your car low. and dont go to glen burnie(headquarters) that place is bullshit.
