Default Optional Audio console components question. PIC

vehicle: 94 civic ex coupe optional Audio console

1. Will a head unit from a 2000 lx civic with harness work in my vehicle with no to VERY little modification? whats involved?

2. Will the storage box from that same 2000 lx civic fit into one of the dins of the optional audio console with very little to no modification?

I don't know if this will help but when 2 single DIN holes are literally on top of each other you need a device that has a face that is also 1 DIN, unless you plan to modify.

For example, look at a regular aftermarket CD player. the body of the device in 1 DIN but the face mushrooms out to larger than 1 DIN. That's okay for 1 DIN slots that are alone, but when you have 2 single DIN slots on top of each other, the overlap of some devices get in the way of the device in the other spot.

From your picture, the device on the far right looks to be 1 DIN all the way, even the face, so that would work great in the Audio Console. I can't tell what the other ones sizes are.

So...
1. You would just have to do the wiring, otherwise it should go in the stock 1 DIN spot just fine.

2. If the storage box's face is 1 DIN then it should be fine, otherwise you'll have to pull out your dremel.

Ok so I looks like the middle one is a no go, cuz it appears to mushroom out. SO, as far as the storage box that I am mostly concerned with, Can anyone confirm if that box will fit into a 1 din? Once again, came out of of 2000 civic.

Well, If you do have a dremel or any small grinding/sanding tool you can do whatever. I have a cd player in the upper and a pocket in the lower. All I did to make it work was grind down the pocket's top rim a bit. I hope these pictures help...
