my car keeps diyin on me.one day it starts and drives and then it dies while drivin and no power.all fuses are good but it wont crank,no power windows etc.then maybe in a day or hours car turns on.what can it be?my starter or alternator?also how the hell do i take the alternator off the motor.its off now but cant take it out.no space.its a 89 sedan with a 95 z6 sohc.passenger side is full of wires and **** and theres no room under the car..please help..car is drivin me crazy..
Check your main fuse under the hood. If it has a small break, temperature could cause it to work sometimes but not others.
As for getting the alternator out, some people claim to be able to wiggle it out but I've always had to pull an axle.

Thats wierd..... About your alternator, you can either put it on jacks and remove the drivers side axle and remove it from there (thats by the book). However, I remove the master cylinder and gently move it (careful not to bend brake lines also beware of brake fluid and its paint damaging features). and bring it up through the tops two 12mm nuts on the master cylinder is alot easier than removing the axle...

if i take the master cylinder off,i have to bleed the brakes?also the main fuse is the big fuse under the dash hidden?about 2 to 3 inches big?
when you remove the MC don't remove the lines. just unbolt it from the booster. the main fuse is located in the fuse box under the hood.
^^ yup.. You wont have to bleed the brakes if you dont remove the lines, the lines have enough give in them to move it out of your way for the time being its pretty easy.. axles can be a PITA

car is properly grounded, car starts sometimes but dies and no power nowhere but in some fuses.batt still has juice..can it b the main relay that kills the car like that or can it be something else?can the alternator make the car die when its drivin and makes everything die then make the start when it feels like it?
