I have a question about my h22 tranny
I just want to figure out if my gear/speed ratio is correct or I am just tripping. On the freeway at 65 mph, my rpm is at 3.4k, is this normal for the 94 prelude vtec tranny?
For 5th Gens, 65mph would be 3250 RPMs in 5th gear. 4th gen ludes have slightly shorter gears. So that's about right.
4th Gen VTEC
1 - 3.307
2 - 1.950
3 - 1.360
4 - 1.071
5 - 0.870
FD - 4.266
5th Gen
1 - 3.285
2 - 1.956
3 - 1.344
4 - 1.034
5 - 0.812
FD - 4.266
4th Gen VTEC
1 - 3.307
2 - 1.950
3 - 1.360
4 - 1.071
5 - 0.870
FD - 4.266
5th Gen

2 - 1.956
3 - 1.344
4 - 1.034
5 - 0.812

I've just finish my build, hoping to put down 240+ whp. My hatch and I weight in at 2290. I was tripping out when I got on the freeway because the rpm was at 3.5 - 4K
Well, thanks for all of the fast responses.

The JDM M2A4 has a .787 5th gear. NICE
The 94-97 Accord trans has a .680 5th NICER
I had an Accord trans in my hatch. The car was SICK fast! Great MPGs too.

lol, I had a M2F4 with a 4.7 F/D swapped in with my JDM H22A. On the Highway I'm cruising 4.5K+ easy around ~75ish MPH and 5k around ~80ish MPH.. ;D
