i have a 99 honda prelude type sh and i have how short the gears are i was on the freeway the other day doing 80mph in 5th gear and i noticed that my rpms were sitting at 4100. even at 60mph its at 3500. my brother has a 95 honda accord lx and his gears are so much longer than mine and his rpms sit alot lower than mine his is like 2500 at 60mph and at like 3500 and 80mph. so i was wondering if the out of his car or another f series tranny would fit, or what tranny could i use to get my rpms lower and have longer gears. thanks for any help.

It might be more feasible (considering you have an SH) to just look into having a taller 5th gear made. I don't believe this is something you can buy, so it would have to be custom.
the 5th gear from the F transmission fits with some machine work done to the top of the gear, altough i have not done it yet to confirm
getting a gear made would most likely cost more the and M2B4, OBD1 conversion, and SH blockoff

Checked Helms, it says those gear ratios for the SH are wrong. It says there's no difference between the base and the SH, and reverse's ratio is 3.000.
does any one know if the f22 housing (the housing side where it bolts up to the motor mounts) fit an h22a LSD housing (the other housing side to where it bolts to the motor)????
wow, reading thru these posts, it looks like putting my H22 in my sandrail is going to be trickier than I thought. My H22 is from a SH (what the heck is ATTS?) can I get rid of ATTS? I was planning to run it OBD1 on a P28. I was thinking I didn't really care if I buy a H22 trans or an Accord (so what needs to be done to use an Accord trans on it?) What other things should I be prepaired for?
The Type-SH H22 has a different block casting than the Base H22. The ATTS System works off the Transmission. You'll need an adapter to fit a Non-SH Transmission to the SH H22 Block.
I hope that P28 will be chipped and tuned for the H22?

that sucks! who makes the adapter kit? I feel like such a dumbass with H22 stuff, I know everything about D, B, K, F series stuff, but I've never done anything with H22's. Time to learn. Still didn't get an answer about ATTS, what is it can it be eliminated? should I get rid of it? What is the transmission code for a H22 type SH trans? I guess I should start trying to source one to save myself some headaches. Thanks for anyone who helps my ignorant butt :-)
I haven't seen anyone chime in, but I thought I was told or read this a while ago that the 5th gear will swap out from the F22 to the H22 transmissions. I asked a while back because I wanted the better mileage out of my H22.
what tranny with the code : T2W4 - 1001772. is it euro R?..it comes with LSD.
can i used this tranny with my H22A engine?..

ATTS stands for active torque transfer system basically it transfers torque to the outside wheels when cornering (allows you to take corners faster and handle better). its basically a secondary tranny, like having two transmissions. if you want to do a h22 swap you need to get a h22 out of a base model not a type sh.
hello, I have a 01 prelude sh and Im building a h22 base engine for turbo, so I know that my tranny in my sh now will not fit my base block so I assume I need to buy a base tranny, but i noticed the base and sh do have different chassis so I was wondering if there will be any issues swapping in a base block and tranny in the sh chassis? also would an f22 tranny fit? would it be better for turbo?
the accord 5th is nice in a prelude. i have an P2U5 '93 accord 5th gear in my t2w4 tranny. i love it. honda should have put those in there from the factory. iirc i had to mill about .060" off for it to fit.
