i've just sprayed a new clear paint to my bumper but then when i paint the clear coat on it my paint starts to flake out or craking out. do i have to wait a couple of days before i paint the clear coat on it.

 

your gonna have to reword that. are you saying when you lay your clearcoat down that your paint is starting to crack and react ? If so, what did you reduce your paint with ?.

 

did you use the same brand paint and clear?

 

Brand doesn't matter. Did you use the same TYPE of materials? Example, acryllic enamel and a urethane based paint...

Had the same problem happen to me. A lot of people said I didnt mix properly but the fact was there was no sealer under the paint (went from aftermarket oem fender to primer to paint) and the clear coat was getting under the paint and running causing it to crack... After 3 times of removing paint and feather edging it smooth I ended up taking it to a paint shop where they had to strip the WHOLE fender and they ended up taking it to bare metal and sealing it after 2 tries...

You only have 24 hours to spray clear after basecoat so no you cant wait a couple of days.
