If it has dual point fuel injection you could do an MPFI swap. Also, do basic maintenance (Oil swap, new K & N filter, New Plugs) You might want also want to run some fuel cleaner through the motor. There's only so many bolt-on upgrades (Aftermarket Header)
Hopefully this helps! Pics would be nice too!

what color is it?
try calling your local auto parts store to get price quotes for the intake and as for tune ups i usually do them myself look for an auto shop around your area

ok... after much reading you want more torque... I ran across a formula that says that for honda engines its torque and rpm's that increase your horsepower primaraly. so basic stuff for starters like the guys are saying like tune up and change out the filters. Then intake and exhaust. You shouldn't have ANY problem finding parts for an si. if you do it will seriously amaze me.
when i get batteries for camera ima put some up
and base is yellowish green
blue nd red lines running on hood making a hood scoop look and some running down sides

Listen man the cheapest thing that you can do is get a repair manual and follow chapter one which is usually basic maintnence. Learn to work on your vehicle and do the maintnence yourself. it wont matter if you have a 7k dollar swap if the oil is never changed and ends up blowing up over 20 bucks worth of parts. Once you get used to workin on it the other stuff is easy. Most bang for your buck will be a swap or turbo kit but neither will be "cheap". Welcome to the world of Hondas, get used to it.
if yours is an si and the motor is stock then it should be a D16A6 so you can slap on a vtec cylinder head and I/H/E and it will be a fun car to drive but there will always be faster cars.
yea he got caught so he wasnt very good.
vtec cylinder head and I/H/E, whats the difference between getting those and a vtec its self also just to make sure what is I/H/E(intake/i dont know what it could be/exhaust).

Best advice in this thread for sure.
You really will want to plan exactly what you want out the car and how much you are willing to spend to cook up a plan and go from that.
I/H/E is Intake/Header/Exhaust which is the most basic of bolt-ons that you can do to your engine. You can gain a small amount of horsepower and torque but nothing outrageous.
Just from you talking i can tell you arent just new to hondas but your new to cars in general and like i said before you should familiarize yourself with your car and get the maintnence done completely that will be the cheapest thing for you to do and make your car more reliable. Believe me man not only will the car be running stronger from doing that alone but it will be able to take alot more abuse that im sure your going to throw at it.
Also, like $nyper said,"You really will want to plan exactly what you want out the car and how much you are willing to spend to cook up a plan and go from that. "
IF you dont have a plan you'll just be pissing money into the wrong areas of your vehicle. This isnt Gran Turismo 4 or Forza so the money will be important to you. For anyone serious about racing or even haveing a FUN car to drive the upgrade path goes as follows.
- All routine maintnence
- Rims (stock honda rims like HX/Integra blades or fat 5's/ new civic rims or aftermarket as long as they are light and nothing bigger then a 16" rim) with tires (depending on where you live they will be Ultra High Performance Summer tires (UHPS) or Ultra High Performance All Season Tires)
- Brakes
- Suspension
- Drivetrain
- Cooling
- Engine
- Interior
- Exterior
The reason the upgrade path is like that is because if you pour to much money into your motor right away you are going to "overtax" the other systems meaning putting alot more strain/stress on them and they WILL fail.
Do some research and look around on the site believe me its been here a while. If you have any questions then send a pm im probably the most paitent person you will meet.

buddy your pretty much right im brand new to hondas but im not completely new to cars....neweer cars i am from 1980's up. my dad and grandfather build race nd show older cars(ex '40 prostreets, rat rods)
but i now see what your saying upgrade the support aspects then engine so it wont strain them.
thanks so much.

Its all good man, unlike the street rods and rat rods when it comes to hondas its really hard to be show and go without alot of money and if you ad an intake headers and exhaust your not gonna see a 40hp difference like the v8's do. Hondas are fun as hell do what you want but keep in mind what ive said and if you have any questions then ask
