if you're chipping a p72-a01 or p28 would work great.

first off, what kind of motor do you have? that's pretty important to know when suggesting an ecu.

it's still bad advice, as the p28 doesn't support the secondary butterflies on the gsr.

if he's using a gsr manifold...which i have no idea where this even came from, chances are the engine will be mostly stock and have no need to be chipped. a stock p72 would be fine.

I'm having trouble getting my 95b1 to work in my 96LS.
I did the CKF sensor trick. Is the conversion harness really necessary with a p75 ecu??

use the obd1 p75 then. i think you can also use the 92-93 ls ecu but i'm not 100% sure. i also don't know the ecu code.

are you using a 95 or 96 ecu? if 95 you won't be able to plug the ecu in without the conversion harness.

Its a 96 p75 ecu. The same ecu that was with the original motor.

so you're using a 96 ecu in a 96 car, why would you need a conversion harness? the conversion harness is for using a different obd of ecu.

welll his motor is a 95 OBD1 LS. and his car is a 96 OBD2 LS so he needs the harness.

how would he plug an obd2 ecu into obd1 plugs? if he wants to run the 96 ecu he'll need to convert the engine to obd2, not the ecu plugs.

And I swapped the dizzy, intake manifold and starter to be obd2. What else is needed?

i think the alternator might have a different plug and there might be something different about the pcv system. you should do a search because all of this has been covered in the past. i think the starter is actually the same between obd1 and 2 so you didn't need to swap it.

I did swap the alternator and did the pcv system. I have searched but most are swaps with civics. The new search system blows. Thanks for your help.

haha woops i didn't realize that i was replying to 2 different people .

anyway, are you going to convert the motor to obd2, or the car to obd1? depending on how emissions is in your area, your only choice might be to convert the motor to obd2. if you're going to do that, then you'll need to use a 96-97 p75 ecu, which will plug into the original ecu plugs that're in the car. if you're converting the car to obd1, you'll have to use a obd2-obd1 conversion harness and use a 94-95 ecu. as i've mentioned you might be able to use a 92-93 ecu as well but don't take my word for it.

if you want pictures of what the different years of ecu's look like then check out this site http://technet.ff-squad.com/

The car isn't getting a spark. I did the CKF sensor "trick" but used the quick crimps like this write up said.
http://www.scribd.com/doc/2547345/Ho...F-Bypass-Trick
I think the ecu shorted so I bought a new one. Should I solder them this time?

BTW: here is a link to my thread on this issue. Sorry for thread-jacking.
