Default gsr dual valve springs...

here's the situation....i got a gsr long block for dirt cheap, but it has a ton of miles, so i am going to rebuild it. i am picking up another gsr head for cheap that's missing cam caps. well. i know that most b16 heads have dual valve springs on the intake side. if this is the same as GSR since i will have a head just chilling around can i pull the dual valve springs from the junk head. and put them in the good gsr head exhaust side? basically i am asking if intake and exhaust valve springs are the same?

No, intake and exhaust valve springs have different spring rates.

Honestly, you're getting bits and pieces from junk and worn out heads without concern of their actual condition. If you cant get new valvetrain or have yours reconditioned, I would consider taking your engine build a little slower instead of putting an engine together made up of questionable parts.

Word, Supertech dual springs go for what, like $200? Why would anyone risk blowing their build and losing hundreds more if not thousands when they can get new and better than stock springs?

because i got the other head for $20. and i am running buddy club spec 4 cams on stock valve train. so i just want it to be a little "safer" but putting in the dual valve springs.

Yes because running STOCK dual springs on your exhaust side will make your build much 'safer' when running small cams such as BC4 cams.

Damn, stock valvetrain, BC4's, untuned.......

...............I'm almost interested on the rest of your setup?

How bout OEM JDM GSR Exhaust manifold, Mugen twin loop, OEM USDM Civic exhaust piping, straight pipe, no cat, and OEM Intake box with no filter?

Werd, contact James at http://ipg-supertech.com/. They are $140. Also, if you need the head re-built contact cc on here. He does excellent work at very reasonable prices.

This is absolutley not safe. No b-series OEM VT can handle the lift of BC4 cams.
