Default NGK Discontinuing ZFR7F-11

I went to advance auto today to get an extra set of ZFR7F-11's and they only had 3 in stock. They told me that NGK is discontinuing them so they only have these 3. I bought like 2 more sets +1 plug online but some online vendors are going out of stock. The V-Power Step 7 is the last Step 7 they have for regular plugs (they discontinued all the rest of the ones that fit our cars and come in Step 7) ex: Iridium IX, Laser, G-Power, etc.

So what other plug maker is worth looking @? Advance said that comparable plugs are available from Autolite and Champion. Are either of these plug makers any good?
Because I dont think NGK is going to have a replacement product for them as they didnt for any of the other sets that they discontinued.

What car is this for? I've been running BKR6E-11 V-power plugs in my GS-R for years.

I have had good luck with Autolite, but Champion over the counter plugs are pure junk.ND makes good plugs.

o well mayb GSR's are different. My D series takes these plugs. I assumed that honda's took them in general. And you dont have a problem with the 6 Step. They only seem to have discontinued the 7 step and colder.

I had a similar issue yesterday, i went to get some bkr7e's, part number 6097, and advanced told me that they were discontinued, but i did some searching, and NGK changed the part numbers. I called with the new part number and they had them. Exact same plug, just a new box

^yep ex:

if u used zfr7f-11 before.. then now use bkr7e or bkr7e-11

the 7 being the heat range so you stay the same (i hope your in the over 300hp range to be running 2 step colder then stock plugs)

and the -11 means pregapped but you should be gapping them much lower if your in the 300+ hp range (see above) so it doesnt matter

ZF is the old stuff...from way back.

BKR7E's are common. There's also BKR7ES-11. Same difference. Different gap. Its a direct replacement plug, but you may have to double check your gaps.

um no.. the -11 means there pregapped to .044, the extra "s" means there non "v-power" so stick with bkr7e... not bkr7es

and if your stock people u run bkr5e... if ur turbo, pushing alot of hp,etc then go up in heat range.

at .035 spark might start braking up at higher boost so watch for it and adjust the gap. past 14psi i was braking up at .030

Whats the difference between the ZFR and the IFR it seems its yet another sku that fits in the car... Does NGK just create new sku's every day?

I use to run the ZFR plugs but last year I changed over to R5671A-8 at the recommendation and use of them by my tuner for my boosted application/ power level.

how did you go from resistor plugs to non-resistor plugs?
