Default aftermarket fuel gauge/fuel level sending unit....

i want to use an aftermarket fuel level gauge, i.e. autometer...on a 96 civic. SOHC
but i dont know the ohm resistance on the sending unit. does anyone know if this is even possible, or can give me some refference, i have searched for a while and have found nothing. i found a universal autometer sending unit that goes from 240ohm to 33ohm. but i dont really think it would work.

The stock sending unit resistance depends on which unit you have...

Sender secured by nuts...
Full 3.5-5 ohms
Half 29.5-35.5 ohms
Empty 105-10 ohms

Sender secured by locking ring...
Full 2-5 ohms
Half 25.5-39.5 ohms
Empty 105-110 ohms

The above info is from the Haynes manual for 96-98 Civics. 94
