Which engine?
D-series has a thermo switch on the back of the motor near the oil filter.

Make sure that is hooked up.
If it is - disconnect the two wires from it and short them together.
That should trigger the fan to come on always (with ignition on).
If it comes on, your switch is bad. If it didn't come on, then further troubleshooting required.
You can test the fan itself by hooking it up to the battery directly.

what i did was follow the wires after the plug and into the harness then i grounded it and just touched the wire onto the battery and thats a good way of testing it. then re solderd it and etc. thatx 4 the info agian 4dref
