Default 255/40-17 tires on 17x7's +38 offset on 6G accord

title says it all, for thos that dont know, 255/40-17 is within 0.02% of oem spec diameter, just a lot wider

205's on the 17's clear just fine, but the edges of the rims are even with the rubber, so like an inch of tire-fat on either side of the wheel

idk if its possible to squeeze that fat of a tire onto that rim, or if it will clear the steering knuckle (main concern)

it's at stock ride height now and the 17's come out almost even eith the fender, so stock with those fat tires should be fine, and lowered: well, that just means i dont need to buy a camber kit, cuz if i trie to correct the camber it will rub like hell

As a rule of thumb (and according to my handy tire size book) a 225 wide tire should be the maximum on a 7 inch wide rim. A 255 may mount on the rim fine, but I'm not sure how safe it would be in the long run- not to mention the physical act of mounting that size tire to that size rim would be quite a workout.

i believe that 245 is as wide as you can go without rubbing issues. also wider tires will INCREASE your turning radius

well, reason being: i want to get yokohama avs es100's and the only sizes they made for 17's are 245/40 and 255/40 and the price difference is $2 each

I think those tires are too wide for a 7" wide wheel. I have 225's on my 16x7 and the tread's already alot wider then the wheel. with a 255, that things gonna be like a balloon. not to mention, it'll rub pretty good.

yeah i looked on google, and its pretty much not gonna happen, and if you CAN get it on the wheel it would look retarded

i found some 235/45 that will be OK, just a little bit oversized,

do you have any pics of the 225 on the 16x7's?
