well recently ive been getting horrible gas mileage....could it be the cat??

Well have you did a tune up for your car lately? Like change the spark plugs,oil,filter etc.

No I haven't.......sometimes wen I lett off the gas I hear some back fire.....is that the catalyic

here's one way to check.. drive the car on the freeway during the night time. then pull over and look to see if the cat is glowing red. if it is then it's clogged and bad.
